What this service is

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) with Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI).

We offer a flagship IVF cycle that combines the standard in vitro fertilization protocol with ICSI — a technique where a single sperm is selected and placed directly into each mature egg under a microscope. This pairing improves fertilization rates when sperm count, motility, or morphology are factors, and we recommend it as the default for most patients starting treatment with us.

The published fee covers IVF coordination, transvaginal ultrasound monitoring, Needle-Free IVF if you’d like it, anesthesia, the egg retrieval, sperm preparation, ICSI fertilization itself, embryo culture and freezing in our on-site laboratory, and a virtual follow-up appointment. Your frozen embryo transfer, embryo storage, and medications are billed separately. Medications vary with each patient’s protocol, so we’ll quote yours specifically during your consult.

Why we pair IVF with ICSI

A single sperm. A single egg. A measurably better start.

In a standard IVF cycle, fertilization happens in a dish — sperm and egg are placed together, and we wait. Adding ICSI takes the guesswork out of that step: an embryologist selects the most promising sperm and injects it directly into the egg.

For most patients, this raises fertilization rates by ten to fifteen percent, and it’s especially valuable when male-factor variables are part of the picture. We include ICSI in our flagship $10,000 fee because we’d rather not run the cycle without it.

Inside the $10,000 fee

Four phases. One price. No add-ons mid-cycle.

Everything below is part of the published fee except the transfer, which is billed separately. Anesthesia, embryologist time, and monitoring ultrasounds are never billed as add-ons.

Coordination & monitoring

IVF coordination with our clinical team and transvaginal ultrasound monitoring throughout your cycle. Needle-Free IVF is included if you’d like it.

On-site lab work

Egg retrieval under anesthesia, sperm preparation, ICSI fertilization, embryo culture, and freezing happen in our Chesterfield embryology laboratory — the same building, the same team, every step.

Embryo transfer

A frozen embryo transfer in a later cycle, once your body has had time to recover from stimulation. Billed separately: $3,000.

Virtual follow-up

A virtual follow-up appointment to review your results and plan your transfer. Embryo storage is billed separately at $600/year for embryos, eggs, or sperm — quoted in writing at consult.

Multi-Cycle Package

3-Cycle IVF + PGT-A Biopsy Package

What if your IVF journey had more opportunities built in from the beginning? For some patients, the path to pregnancy may require more than one IVF cycle. To help patients plan ahead and reduce financial uncertainty, Arbor Fertility offers a multi-cycle IVF package that includes PGT-A embryo biopsy.

$28,000

Comprehensive 3-cycle package

Each cycle includes:

  • IVF coordination and cycle management with our clinical team
  • Ultrasound monitoring throughout the treatment cycle
  • Egg retrieval performed by our physician (anesthesia included)
  • Sperm preparation prior to fertilization
  • ICSI fertilization and embryo creation in the embryology laboratory
  • Embryo freezing, culture and development monitored by our lab team
  • Assisted hatching and embryo biopsy for PGT-A testing (at no extra cost)
  • Needle-free injection device for compatible stimulation medications

Not included: Embryo transfer, diagnostic and infectious disease screening, embryo or gamete storage ($600), fertility medications (typically $3,000–$4,500, with an optional in-house medication package), donor services, and phlebotomy laboratory fees billed to insurance.

Where Arbor lands vs. the rest of the industry

$13,600 instead of $18,000+.

A single IVF cycle in the U.S. typically lands somewhere between $15,000 and $25,000 once monitoring, anesthesia, embryo work, and storage are billed separately. Here’s how Arbor’s IVF package ($10,000), frozen transfer ($3,000), and first year of storage ($600) compare.

  Arbor Fertility National Average
IVF base + ICSI Included $12,000–$15,000
Anesthesia for retrieval Included $700–$1,200
Embryo transfer Separate ($3,000) $1,500–$3,000
Cycle monitoring Included $1,000–$2,500
Year-one frozen storage Separate ($600/year) $600–$1,000
Total typical out-of-pocket $13,600* $18,000+

*Arbor total = $10,000 IVF package + $3,000 frozen embryo transfer + $600 first-year embryo storage. National averages compiled from published industry data including ASRM, FertilityIQ, and RESOLVE; individual costs vary by clinic and treatment plan. Medications are billed separately at every clinic, including ours.

Common questions about IVF with ICSI.

How long does a typical cycle take from start to transfer?

Plan on about two to three months from your first consult to your embryo transfer. Arbor transfers frozen embryos, so retrieval and transfer happen in separate cycles: your embryos are frozen after retrieval, and we typically recommend a one to two month gap so your body can reset before the transfer.

Why do you include ICSI by default?

For most patients, ICSI raises fertilization rates by ten to fifteen percent compared to standard IVF insemination. We include it in the flagship fee so cost never becomes the reason a cycle skips it. If your case clearly does not benefit from ICSI, we’ll discuss it during your treatment-planning consult and adjust the protocol.

What does the $10,000 fee actually cover?

IVF coordination, transvaginal ultrasound monitoring, Needle-Free IVF (if you’d like it), anesthesia, the egg retrieval, sperm preparation, ICSI fertilization, embryo culture and freezing in our on-site laboratory, and a virtual follow-up appointment. The frozen embryo transfer is billed separately ($3,000). Medications, embryo storage ($600/year), genetic testing (PGT-A or PGT-M, if you choose), diagnostic testing and infectious disease screening, donor services, and laboratory fees are quoted separately in writing before treatment begins.

Are medications really billed separately?

Yes — this is industry-standard, not an Arbor exception. Medication protocols vary substantially by patient, and pharmacies (not clinics) dispense and bill them. We publish typical medication ranges during your consult and walk you through pharmacy options that frequently come in below the all-in retail price.

What happens if a cycle doesn’t lead to a transfer?

If we don’t reach transfer in your initial cycle — for any reason — we walk through next steps with you in detail before any subsequent cycle begins. Subsequent IVF cycles use the same $10,000 fee. There is no “second cycle premium” or escalating package pricing.

Can I use insurance with the $10,000 fee?

If you have fertility benefits, we’ll verify your coverage and bill your plan directly. The published fee is your ceiling — you pay only what your plan leaves. We’re in-network with several Missouri and Illinois plans; even when out-of-network, our published price typically beats post-deductible billing at competitor clinics.
